Hardscape North America to offer plenty of educational opportunities

contractors-meeting-hnaHardscape North America is celebrating its 10th anniversary by offering contractors and dealers an opportunity to attend 10 different briefings at GIE+EXPO that cover the gamut of best business practices.

Hardscape-North-America-10-years-logoThe briefings will each take 20 minutes and will be held in the trade show floor classroom, which is behind the ICPI booth (20010).

Dealers will have their briefings on Dealer Day, Oct. 19, at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. The first session will be led by Derek Whisenand of Whiz-Q on “Technology for Operation” at 4 p.m. The next briefing will be at 6 p.m. and highlight the Dealer Video Winner’s company video and operations.

Contractors can attend the briefings listed below on Thursday, Oct. 20, and Friday, Oct. 21:

Thursday, Oct. 20

9:30-9:50 a.m.: Are You Really Making Money on the Job? – Jerry Gaeta – Learn how to make a profit instead of breaking even.

11:30-11:50 a.m.: Six Lead Generation Myths That Cost Residential Hardscape Companies Money – Todd Bairstow – Discuss what techniques are important in generating online leads.

1:00-1:20 p.m.: What Do I Need To Do To Not Get Sued? – Glenn Herold and Burke Hyde – Watch a mock discovery session and how a design engineer and wall installer present their case to a judge.

2:30-2:50 p.m.: Common Pitfalls – Marc Larsen – For those new to the industry, find out what are the common mistakes in the interlocking concrete paver industry.

Friday, Oct. 21

9:30-9:50 a.m.: What Motivates Employees? It Is Not More Money! – Tom Hudgin – Gain advice on how to motivate and build loyalty among key employees.

11:30-11:50 a.m.: Profit is Not a Four Letter Word – Monroe Porter – Learn how to set up and monitor your financial records.

1:00-1:20 p.m.: Beyond the I-Pattern – Mark Hain – Get inspired with advanced creative hardscape designs and how to construct them.

2:30-2:50 p.m.:  Best SRW Construction Practices – Gabriela Mariscal – Pick up a refresher course in the best construction practices to avoid common installation problems.

Along with the new contractor and dealer briefings, HNA is featuring 50 new exhibitors at this year’s trade show. More than 200 exhibitors will be present on the trade show floor and the 19-acre outdoor exhibition area.

The Texas Nursery & Landscape Association is one of the new exhibitors, along with Black Diamond Coatings Inc., NuTone and Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting.
