Have you ever heard of meadow-scaping?

Landscapers in Charlottesville, Virginia have and although it’s not a new trend, it’s a growing one.

A few landscapers are installing, maintaining and designing wildflower meadows, according to The Daily Progress.

One company has even planted more than 100 acres of flowers.

The idea behind planting the flowers is to plant natural vegetation in an area. There are many varieties of flowers and grasses that can be planted in a meadow – none of which are invasive.

The native habitat brings an abundance of wildlife to the area including butterflies and birds.

One of the biggest benefits of meadow-scaping is the plants are drought resistant and don’t need regular maintenance like mowing.
