2015 F-150 to Include Snow Plow Prep Option

For those looking at the 2015 F-150, there is another reason landscapers should take a second take at investing in the truck.

The 2015 F-150 will offer a snow plow prep option for all 2015 F-150 4x4s with the 5.0L V8, according to our sister site, Hard Working Trucks.

Ford will offer a light-duty snow plow prep option across cab configurations – regular, SuperCab and SuperCrew, as well as XL, XLT and Lariat trim levels.

When the snow plow mode is activated, the truck temporarily turns off nonessential features to provided power for the plow.

The option package requires the truck to include a 5.0-liter V8 engine and four-wheel drive. The package is also available across XL, XLT and Lariat trim levels.

The F-150 can handle plows weighing more than 450 pounds.

Owners will need to take the truck to a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier to purchase and install the plow hardware. The maximum light-duty plow weight will be more than 450 pounds.

Pricing for the snow plow prep option, excluding the plow, will be announced later this year.
