You knew John Deere’s GIE+EXPO showcase would include a dandy or two. The company has served the landscaping industry a long time, so it’s no surprise one of its offerings at the tradeshow, which previews Oct. 21 with “Dealer Day” and opens to all Oct. 22-23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, involves its ZTrak 900 Series zero-turn commercial mowers.

In 2016, Deere will offer nearly every model in the series with Michelin X Tweel Turf tires. You can read John Deere’s brochure about the tires here. If you don’t want to wait until next year, John Deere will be happy to sell you one (or several) at the show.

The airless radial tire “virtually eliminates tire downtime and is nearly maintenance free,” Deere promises. The Michelin also lasts three times longer than a pneumatic tire, the company says.

Operator comfort is improved, as is uniformity of cut. Deere says the X Tweel Turf has a consistent hub height that “ensures the mower deck produces an even cut, while the full-width, poly-resin spokes provide excellent lateral stability” for outstanding hillside performance.

“No more flats, downtime, patch kits” or having to keep replacement tires at hand, John Deere says of the Michelins on Z900 Series ZTrak mowers. The X Tweel Turf has the same dimensions and bolt pattern as a standard 24x12x12 tire.

“We’re excited to offer contractors the first opportunity to purchase this revolutionary product at booth 1110,” said Nick Minas, product manager, John Deere Commercial Mowing. “John Deere experts will be on hand to take and process orders, but we encourage contractors to reserve their ZTrak today, as quantities are limited and the next purchase opportunity won’t be until 2016.”

The Michelins are sold exclusively for John Deere ZTrak 900 Series models with 54-, 60- and 72-inch deck sizes.

Machines ordered at GIE+EXPO will be delivered to contractors by Dec. 31, 2015, according to Deere. Also, the company says the purchases will be eligible for its GreenFleet loyalty program.
