A New York landscaper was stabbed this week while trying to cut down a tree in the backyard of a home in Queens.

The employee of Clearview Tree and Land had just begun work on chopping down a 40-foot tree Tuesday when an angry next-door neighbor attacked, according to NBCNewYork.com.

The victim was stabbed in the back and was rushed to the hospital. Authorities say the 33-year-old is expected to recover from the wound.

The homeowner who had hired the tree service company, Aida Simoes, didn’t know why her neighbor became violent. She had only wanted the tree cut down and turned into mulch.

“I don’t understand,” she told reporters in Spanish.

The attacker, along with one of his family members, was arrested on assault charges at the home in Elmhurst.

The 110th Precinct declined to make any official statement about the case or the reason behind attack.
