Remodelista.com and its sister website Gardenista.com announced that they are accepting submissions for their annual Considered Design Awards contest. This contest, the websites say, honors the year’s greatest triumphs of home and garden design prowess and remodeling ingenuity.

“We’re excited to see what our readers, amateurs and professionals alike, have come up with in the home remodeling space,” said Julie Carlson, Remodelista editor-in-chief. “Every year we’re impressed by the ingenuity and creativity of the submissions we receive; it’s our favorite event of the year.”

Submissions are accepted between now and 12 a.m. on June 22. The websites say that professionals from the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United Kingdom are invited to submit their own outdoor and interior design projects in categories that incorporate the entire home. Interested participants can submit up to 10 photos and a description of their work.

Once the time for submissions has closed, four guest judges – Sam Hamilton, owner of March in San Francisco; Sheila Bridges, interior designer; Rita Konig, writer and interior designer; and Deborah Needleman, designer and editor – will select finalists for the categories listed below.

Readers of Remodelista and Gardenista will vote on the winners, and those who get the top votes will receive a collection of books from the guest judges, plus books from Remodelista and Gardenista. Professional winners will also be automatically entered into the websites’ architect/designer directory of recommended professionals.
