One thing you won’t notice on Cub Cadet’s website, even among its mowers targeting professional landscapers, is a 72-inch deck – like the one you see on the photo above.
The company says the PRO Z Series zero-turn mowers it will introduce next month at GIE+EXPO, the green industry’s largest trade show, will leave no doubt about its “renewed commitment to the professional market.”
Cub Cadet’s initial entry in the PRO Z Series, the PRO Z 100, was announced in November 2015, with the company saying deliveries would begin sometime this past spring.
There will be much more to see Oct. 20-21 at GIE+EXPO at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. (Dealers may catch a glimpse Oct. 19, which is “Dealer Day” at the show.)
Cub Cadet says the “completely redesigned” PRO Z Series represents its strongest commercial zero-turn mower lineup yet, noting that the machines are designed to be used every day.
Needless to say, the new series will be available to test drive at the company’s outdoor showcase at GIE, while plenty of Cub Cadet product experts will be on hand inside to walk around the shiny models with you.
Cub Cadet says you’ll also have a chance to talk with some of the 100 landscape professionals who worked with the company during the design, manufacture and testing of the new mowers.
After 16 weeks and thousands of hours of testing and validation, the company said, landscapers’ comments ranged from “more beefy than most mowers” to “stripes fantastically.” One said the new zero-turn mowers “will ‘wow’ you,” Cub Cadet said.
The lineup consists of the PRO Z 100, PRO Z 500, PRO Z 700 and PRO Z 900 Series. The manufacturer says the new machines are powerful, comfortable, maneuverable and produce an unequaled quality of cut.
The PRO Z Series features the industry’s only triple-7-gauge deck, comprising three layers of 7-gauge steel, plus ¼-inch leading edge and 5/16-inch side reinforcements. The full length, laser cut steel frame, the 5/16-inch steel rear bumper and the cutting deck are protected with e-coating – a precise, multi-stage process that provides automotive-grade corrosion defense, Cub Cadet says.
The series uses commercial-grade Kawasaki engines.
High-back suspension seats with lumbar support and padded armrests come standard. The PRO Z 700 and 900 Series absorb impact on rough terrain with a pivoting front axle dampening system, a vibration isolating foot pan and four seat isolators. The PRO Z 900’s air-ride seat has customizable seat firmness and additional controls for fitting the user.
