IA Webinar to Define Role of Irrigation in Stormwater Management

The Irrigation Association will be continuing its Smart Irrigation Month: Bringing Water to Life webinar series.

logoOn Thursday, Jan. 30, the Association will be hosting its first webinar in the turf/landscape industry: Green Infrastructure: the Role of Irrigation in Stormwater Management.

Communities throughout the United States are finding new ways to transform stormwater into a positive for the ecosystem.

The webinar will be answering the following questions: When using plant material to manage stormwater, what is the role of irrigation? Is it part of the problem or part of the solution?

Featured Speakers:

  • Paul W. Lander, PhD, ASLA, LEED AP

Paul has worked in the fields of water, energy and land conservation for over 30 years, including 16 years directing the City of Boulder’s Water Conservation Office. His teaching includes courses in Western U.S. Water, World Water and Landscape Sustainability at the University of Colorado-Boulder and through professional webinars. He is active professionally, having recently chaired committees of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Alliance for Water Efficiency and the American Water Works Association. He serves on the advisory boards of water conservation programs at Lane Community College (Eugene, Oregon) and at the University of Florida.
