From June 11-13, Kohler Engines will be at Demopark, which is held in Eisenach, Germany, and covers more than 25 hectares. Its first event was held in 2009 and since then has become an important event on the calendars of many European landscaping and gardening sectors.

Kohler says it is eager to confirm its presence in these markets and take the opportunity to exhibit its product portfolio. The company says that its portfolio, along with award winning innovation diesel engines, includes horizontal and vertical gasoline engines, as well as the recently introduced trifuel engines.

In 1920, Kohler Co. entered in to the power business with the world’s first engine-powered electric generator. By 1963, Kohler Co. was supplying engines for nearly half of the U.S. lawn and garden tractor market, and in 2007 Kohler Co. acquired Lombardini. Kohler says that this acquisition allowed them to become one main player within the European market.

Kohler says that alternative fuels research and development are important to the company, and four of their Command PRO horizontal shaft engines – the CH260, CH270, CH395 and CH440 – offer the ability run on propane, gasoline and natural gas.

At Kohler’s booth, attendees will be able to see the latest Command PRO CH395 trifuel, characterized with extended running times that are available when operating with NG or LP fuels. Visitors can also see the Command PRO CH740LP, which is designed to operate on either natural gas or propane. Kohler says that both engines come standard with a 4-stage heavy-duty cyclonic Quad-Clean Air Filtration System feature without exceeding the size or weight of a standard air filter.

Kohler says it has also developed Electric Fuel Injection (EFI) to provide the market with the very latest advances in engine technology that can offer significant improvements in ease of starting and fuel economy.

Kohler’s closed-looped EFI is equipped with an oxygen sensor that the company says provides continuous feedback on quality of combustion, as well as monitors and adjusts engine operating parameters. The Command PRO EFI engines start just like a car with no choke, according to Kohler, and have 25 percent fuel savings.

Kohler says that for customers looking for the highest performance and most fully-featured lawn mower engines, they will be showcasing the XTX775 from the Kohler XTX series. The Kohler XTX engines are designed with cast iron durability, and Kohler says they never need an oil change. Kohler says its Smart-Choke and Easy-Pull starting systems make starting the system effortless, and the Consistent-Cut technology maintains higher engine speed for a cleaner turf cut in tough grass.
