The National Collegiate Landscape Competition will take place March 15-18 at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
This is the second time the competition has been held in Provo, with the first being in 2006. The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) event, formerly known as “Student Career Days,” provides an opportunity for landscaping students from across the country to gather and participate in hands-on competitive activities, educational workshops and presentations.
Approximately 800 horticulture and landscape students from 60 different schools are expected to compete in 28 real-word challenges. NCLC also provides networking opportunities as landscaping companies of all sizes will be present at the Career Fair on Thursday, March 16.
“We encourage all industry companies who are looking for new talent to participate in the career fair and watch the students compete in the events,” said Sabeena Hickman, CAE, NALP CEO. “This is the biggest career event in the industry and it is amazing to have the support of so many companies and industry suppliers.”
The 40th NCLC was held at Mississippi State University last year. Michigan State University came in first place in the 2016 competition, while Brigham Young University-Provo took home fifth.
