Steiner, a manufacturer of articulating tractors and attachments, has unveiled the new 450 tractor, calling it a new chapter to its legacy.

The Steiner 450 tractor boasts of versatility that makes it appealing to those in the landscaping, golf and sports turf industries. Featuring the Quick-Hitch system, operators can swap between more than 20 attachments in a few minutes without needing any tools.

Along with lift arms that are 50 percent stronger, this new model includes a stacked gear pump that is designed to increase hydraulic performance and efficiency. It no longer requires belt maintenance and has a PSI of 1,750 of steering and lift pressure.

Completely restyled from the Steiner 440, the 450 model comes with LED headlights and taillights and a large operator platform for easy operation.

“We wanted to go above and beyond and get more aggressive with the styling,” said Matt Donohue, brand director, during the live-stream press conference.

One of the most notable capabilities of the tractor model is its build for climbing slopes and hills, where other machines cannot. Thanks to a low center of gravity and wide stance, the 450 tractor can handle up to 20 degree slopes. According to Donohue, there are other options that allow the tractor to go up to 30 degree slopes.

Thanks to its articulated frame, the 450 tractor has a turn radius of 43.5 inches.

Customers can choose between three engines choices: a Kubota 25-horsepower liquid-cooled diesel, a Kubota 32-horsepower liquid-cooled gasoline or a 37-horsepower Vanguard EFI air-cooled gasoline engine.

The 450 tractor has a ground speed of 6 mph in low gear and 9.5 in high gear. The frame oscillates keeping the operator upright on irregular terrain and operator comfort is also considered with a new adjustable, high-backed suspension seat with armrests.

“This machine is a game-changer for us at Steiner, but more importantly, it’ll change how people get their jobs done,” Donohue said. “We’ve listened to our customers and we’ve been imagining and developing an even more powerful machine to tackle tough tasks day after day. Today, we’re excited to see it finally come to life and give our customers what they’ve been waiting for.”

The Steiner 450 will be shipped to dealers in the coming weeks and will also be viewable at the upcoming 2017 Golf Industry Show at booth #2500. To learn more about the 450 tractor, click here.
