Edward Smith of Smith Lawn Service in Booneville, Mississippi, recently took delivery of the new Toro Z Master Professional 6000 Series mower he won through a Toro giveaway at last year’s GIE+EXPO, which was held in conjunction with Hardscape North America this past October at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.

Smith’s new mower is powered by a 34-horsepower Kohler Command Pro EFI 999cc engine and features Toro’s “Horizon” technology and a 72-inch deck.

“I was pretty shocked when I first learned that I had won a new Toro Z Master,” Smith said. “I’ve never used a 72-inch cutting deck before, and I can’t wait to get out there and see how it does. I believe I’ll be able to be much more productive with this new mower as part of my fleet.”

The drawing was limited to eligible landscape contractors, and Smith’s name was randomly selected from hundreds of entries at the Louisville show.

“We are excited to get a new Z Master with Horizon Technology into the hands of another landscape contractor,” said Chris Hannan, senior marketing manager for Toro’s Residential and Landscape Contractor businesses. “GIE+EXPO is a great platform to interact with contractors, while highlighting Toro’s newest productivity-improving products. We were pleased to see such participation in our drawing and in the show, which continues to grow in size and scope.”

Smith says he’s looking forward to testing out his mower’s Horizon technology’s functionality, which is available on select Z Master 6000 Series models. What Toro terms “the machine’s onboard intelligence platform” improves fuel efficiency, the manufacturer says, while monitoring critical components “to save on machine wear by allowing communication between key systems.”
