Although the number of self-employed jobs has gone down in the United States, the number of self-employed landscapers has increased since 2006. Self-employed landscapers and grounds keepers have increased by 13 percent, or 37,939, since 2006, according to a report from CareerBuilder and Economic Modeling Specialists Intl. (EMSI).
