OSHA approves new online courses

OSHA Pro’s has added a 10-hour construction course in Spanish and a 30-hour general industry course in English to the courses available on its Web site, www.osha-pros.com. With the approval the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of more online training courses, workers can receive training in basic health and safety topics to help prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.

Before these courses became available online through the OSHA Outreach training program, those interested had to arrange an on-site group course or locate a course with open enrollment. The construction class in Spanish could be particularly difficult to find because of the lack of approved trainers who speak the language. With the online courses, individuals have instant access to the courses, which they can complete at their own pace over a six-month period, says Curtis Chambers, vice president of OSHA Pro’s.
