The GM Hard Day’s Work Tour began this week in Dallas to showcase GM products for small-business owners. In conjunction with Lowe’s Home Improvement Centers, the tour will travel throughout Texas, stopping at Lowe’s stores each morning and at job sites each afternoon.
Frank Jenkins, incentives and promotions manager for GM Fleet and Commercial, says GM realizes that free time is in short supply for many of its consumers, especially small business owners, so the company wanted the promotion to take place at a convenient time and location for them. “Many of them start their day at Lowe’s before heading out to a job site,” Jenkins says. “We thought we’d create our own jobsite, let them have a little fun, grab something to eat and see our products in a relaxed environment where they can learn about the trucks on their own.”
The tour includes free food and drinks, product displays, tool giveaways and a sweepstakes to win a 2007 GMC Sierra. The GM Business Choice program, which was created 13 years ago for customers looking for work trucks, is promoting the tour. Under the program, small-business owners can choose a purchase incentive option ranging from $350 gift cards to “upfit” or bin packages that retail for $3,290.
