The Association of Professional Landscape Designers will hold its sixth annual design awards program to recognize excellence in landscape design for residential and non-residential projects.
Entries are due December 31 and will be judged by the following criteria: functionality of design elements; suitability of plant material (color, textures, variety, suitability to site and design context); relationship and context to site; environmental responsibility (erosion, excess fertilization, etc.); effective integration of plants and hardscapes; originality and creativity; design’s effect on maintenance; and overall impression. All entries must have been installed for two years and must be no more than 10 years old.
Winners will be announced at the APLD annual conference in March. This year’s best of show winner will receive free registration to the conference, which will be held in Pasadena, California. For more information, visit www.apld.org.
