John Deere coordinates internal business units for landscaping professionals

The John Deere Commercial and Consumer Equipment Division has realigned three of its business units that provide products and services to landscaping professionals. John Deere Landscapes, John Deere Golf and Turf One Source and the company’s professional mowing segment will now be directed by David Werning, president of John Deere Landscapes and vice president, commercial segment, John Deere C&CE.

Nate Jones, president of John Deere C&CE, says John Deere is committed to professionals in the green industry and has created new products as well as new services and business solutions over the past few years. John Deere Landscapes was created to offer solutions and products in one place for landscape professionals and irrigation contractors, and John Deere One Source works to help superintendents become more efficient. “Now, it is only natural that we complete the commitment to the commercial customer by realigning our commercial business and having Dave lead it,” Jones says.

Werning, a John Deere employee for more than 30 years, says the change will benefit the industry. “Through recent collaboration with Gregg Breningmeyer and his teams in golf and turf and professional mowing, we have identified key areas that should certainly help us make the commercial customer’s operations simpler and more successful,” he says. “I believe the industry will see great things out of this new alignment of our entire commercial business.”
