The International Erosion Control Association is accepting proposals for technical programming at Environmental Connection 2008, IECA’s annual conference and expo to take place Feb. 18-21, 2008, in Orlando, Florida. Abstracts must be submitted through the IECA Web site, www.ieca.org, by April 30.
IECA encourages all professionals in the erosion and sediment control industry, including contractors, design professionals, government personnel, researchers/inventors and manufacturers, to participate in the educational programming. Abstracts for presentations relating to the following categories are needed: slope technology, stream restoration, vegetative establishment, stormwater management, wetlands, erosion and sediment control and beach and shoreline stabilization.
Formats for presentations include technical papers, workshops, forums, new product symposiums, poster presentations and case studies. All case study submissions will also be considered for selection into the Awards of Environmental Excellence program.
The IECA Technology Section Committee will review presentation proposals for possible use in the technical program. Proposals will be judged based on presentation of thorough data and clear results, pertinence to the erosion control industry, innovation and clarity. If an abstract is selected, the committee will ask the author to provide the complete paper or presentation for the second part of the review process. Notification of abstract approval will be sent by June 4, and, if selected, the final presentation will be due by October 1.
