New flow monitoring and control functions from ET Water Systems are designed to provide more flow protection and reporting than previously available with commercial controllers. With the ETwater Manager Web site, users can set the desired high and low flow percent thresholds. The ETwater Smart Controller will take corrective action and send email notification with suggested courses of action when abnormal flow conditions occur.
The Web site also enables users to view station flow rates and adjust flow settings at any time from any PC. Bruce Cardinal, founder and CEO of ET Water, says the Web site provides easy set-up for flow limits at station level. “In serious out-of-limits conditions, a valve or the main will be shut down and the customer immediately notified, thus providing added risk protection,” Cardinal says.
The on-site Smart Controller automatically “learns” normal flow rates, and users can view flow rates and alerts by station at the controller as well as on the Web. The ETwater Smart Controller won top honor for Environmental Technology Innovation by the Wall Street Journal in September 2006.
