International Pool and Spa, Backyard Living Expo features new seminars, speakers

The 2007 International Pool and Spa Expo and Backyard Living Expo Nov. 28-30 includes a curriculum of 73 courses to provide an opportunity for industry professionals to gain a competitive edge in their businesses.

The expo, to be held in the South Halls at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, is structured to meet the needs of professionals with a range of skill levels and interests, including pool builders, retailers, service company professionals, technicians, plasterers, pool operators, landscape designers and architects.

“We designed our educational conference program to provide up-to-the-minute information in areas that are impacting the pool, spa and backyard living industry,” says Donna Bellantone, director of the IPSE / BLE. “With the in-depth content, broad range of topics and unparalleled speaker expertise, attendees will come away with valuable strategies to grow and develop their businesses.”

Designed to help contractors advance their businesses and careers, the majority of the seminars are for intermediate and advanced skill levels, and 45 cover topics not previously included in the Expo. Six of the most popular classes from the 2006 Expo will be repeated. Many of the seminars are pending approval from Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Construction Industry Licensing Board.

Business topics include “Twenty-First Century Marketing for Landscape Professionals,” Take Your Retail Service to the Next Level,” “Personnel Practice Basics – How to Stay Legal, Stay Sane and Make Money” and “Driving Great Job Site Performance: Keys to Successful Project Management.” Technical seminars include “How to Install Diving Boards/Slides,” “Shimmering Glass Tile: Case Study of a Multi-Million Dollar Installation,” “A New Stone Age: Integrating Rock in the Landscape” and “Introduction to Outdoor Fire Features – Applications and Design.”
