Ohio Governor Ted Strickland recently recognized Ventrac as one of 31 Ohio businesses honored for outstanding contributions to exporting with the 2007 Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Award.
The “E” Awards program honors companies and organizations that demonstrate outstanding performance in exporting or have increased awareness of exporting as an essential component of the state’s economy.
Located in Orrville, Ohio, Ventrac designs, manufactures and markets equipment for the turf and landscape industry. The company has increased export sales at a yearly rate of 32 percent over the past three years, and export sales currently comprise 24 percent of the total business of Venture Products.
Ohio is the eighth-largest exporting state and the only state with exports that have increased every year since 1998. Last year, Ohio companies exported $37.8 billion in goods, an increase of 8.7 percent since 2005.
