The Toro Company acquires Rain Master

The Toro Company has purchased Simi Valley, California-based Rain Master Irrigation Services, a market leader of innovative irrigation central control systems, controllers and handheld remote controls for the landscape and commercial markets for over 25 years. The company has a strong presence in many parts of the western United States.

Rain Master products will become part of The Toro Company’s Irritrol line, but will still be sold under the Rain Master brand.

“This purchase is consistent with our strategy to pursue acquisitions that will strengthen our position in the water management market and drive our revenue growth. Rain Master is an established, well-respected company in the irrigation industry and will provide us with a product line that helps enhance our global offering now and in the future,” says Michael Hoffman, chairman and CEO of The Toro Company.

Jim Sieminski, CEO, and the employees of Rain Master Irrigation Services will become part of The Toro Company’s water management team.

“We are pleased to be joining forces with The Toro Company, an irrigation leader that shares our goal of creating technologies that support the efficient use of water,” Sieminski said.

The Toro Company, established in 1914, is a worldwide provider of outdoor beautification products, support services and integrated solutions. The company, which earned $1.8 billion in 2006, serves groundskeepers, sports filed managers, landscape and irrigation contractors, fruit and vegetable growers and homeowners.
