The Scotts Company has announced a new organizational structure for its professional business group.
This group markets specialty fertilizers and plant protection products to the commercial horticulture industry, including greenhouses, nurseries and landscape professionals throughout the Americas, Europe and the Asia/Pacific region.
According to Claude Lopez, the realignment is intended to leverage the company’s worldwide presence.
“These new organizational changes reflect our overall strategy to extend Scotts’ global reach,” Lopez says. “Our North America Professional and Grass Seed businesses have significant growth potential.”
Fred Bosch, who has been a part of Scotts’ Professional business in Europe for the past seven years, has been named vice president, global professional. He will now be responsible for developing a long-term business plan for the global professional division.
Formerly head of the North America professional and Asia/Pacific businesses, Korbin Riley will now be vice president, global professional grass seed and emerging markets. Riley is tasked with leveraging Scotts’ recent investment in grass seed operations on a more global basis.
“I fully support these executives and their continued efforts to advance the innovative culture of The Scotts Company,” Lopez says. “With their proven leadership and the combined efforts of our associates around the world, Scotts will continue to succeed on a global scale.”
