Rain Bird’s Wolfarth named to water efficiency board

Ron Wolfarth, director of Rain Bird Corporation’s landscape irrigation division, has been appointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Alliance for Water Efficiency. The Alliance includes 19 members from throughout North America.

Created in partnership with a number of national, regional and state organizations interested in water conservation and outreach, the Alliance for Water Efficiency aims to advocate water efficiency research, education and evaluation. The new national, nonprofit organization includes board members representing water utilities, product and appliance manufacturers, environmental organizations and academic institutions. The board will meet in January to further develop the new organization and its membership.

Wolfarth, who has worked with Rain Bird for 21 years in a variety of sales, marketing and management positions, has been a licensed landscape architect in California since 1978 and has worked in landscape architecture and irrigation and water management consulting for eight years.

Dave Johnson, corporate marketing director for Rain Bird Corporation, says Wolfarth’s experience with water conservation will make a valuable contribution to the Alliance. “As advocates of the Intelligent Use of Water, we are extremely proud that Ron has been selected to serve on the board and we look forward to assisting the Alliance as they promote studies and provide education on how we can best protect our precious water resources,” Johnson says.
