ONLA pledges $250,000 more to horticultural institute

The Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association increased its monetary pledge to the Horticultural Research Institute and its endowment fund – the research division of the American Nursery and Landscape Association – from $500,000 to $750,000. ONLA also has $462,071 in the Ohio Research Endowment Fund, managed by HRI.

“Our association is committed to green industry research and by increasing our pledge to HRI, monies will continue to be available for the foreseeable future,” says Keith Manbeck, ONLA president.

ONLA will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2008, beginning with a gala celebration after the opening day of ONLA’s “CENTS” show. For more information about ONLA, click here.

The HRI has directed more than $4.2 billion in industry funds to more than 600 research projects covering issues such as production, the environment and business practices. In addition, HRI distributed $350,000 in grants and scholarships in 2007.
