In an effort to expand its markets, Quest Specialty Chemicals has acquired United Coatings, a leading manufacturer of protective coatings for a range of architectural and industrial applications.
This acquisition is the fourth purchase of a coatings manufacturer in two years for Quest, which is working to expand its presence in the coatings industry. The acquisition will not affect business operations or customer relationships at United Coatings, according to the company. Operations at United Coatings manufacturing facilities will continue uninterrupted, and all United Coatings management will remain.
The acquisition will provide United Coatings with more capital resources and help the company increase its presence in the construction coatings industry, according to Quest.
“Quest is a strong company with a solid reputation in the coatings industry, so this acquisition made perfect sense for United Coatings,” says Charlie Van Gelder, vice president and national sales manager for United. “Building off of our long history in the coatings market, this new relationship with Quest will allow us to diversify our manufacturing capabilities, increase revenues and grow our business to exciting new levels.”
