Popular irrigation technologies converge

ET Water Systems has integrated technical data from the MP Rotator, a matched-precipitation rate sprinkler, into its entire line of Web-based smart controllers, which were recognized for Environmental Technology Innovation by the Wall Street Journal.

Bruce Cardinal, chief executive officer of ET Water Systems, says the integration enables landscapers who use ETwater smart controllers to ensure accurate scheduling of MP Rotators more easily by clicking on the image of the MP Rotator in the online setup screen. “The scheduling engine sets a customized MP Rotator run time, soak time and frequency for the user’s personal landscape profile and adjusts irrigation automatically based on daily ET and rainfall,” Cardinal says.

Mike Baron, the MP Rotator manager for Walla Walla Sprinkler Company, says he is excited to see the convergence of the two water-conserving technologies. “Providing a separate sprinkler category just for MP Rotators in ET Water’s software recognizes the growing awareness of just how complementary good sprinkler uniformity is to the water-savings potential of ‘smart’ controllers,” Baron says.
