McCorkle Nurseries has joined the Encore Azalea wholesale grower network to bring increased distribution and growing capacity for Encore Azalea, the only patented azalea brand that blooms in spring, summer and fall.
Loxley, Alabama-based Plant Development Services Inc. manages the nine-member grower network. PDSI also owns and/or licenses more than 50 patented plant properties.
McCorkle Nurseries markets more than 4 million plants each year, with more than 1,800 customers in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states. The company uses 440 acres of its 840-acre operation for plant production. Encore Azaleas were added over the winter for spring 2007 availability.
