New Dithiopyr 40 WSB herbicide approved for crabgrass control

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has granted registration to Quali-Pro’s Dithiopyr 40 WSB broad-spectrum herbicide.

According to Quali-Pro, the herbicide has been proven to provide early post-emergence control of crabgrass, as well as pre-emergence control of more than 40 other broadleaf and grass weeds. Some weeds controlled for the entire season include crabgrass, goosegrass, foxtail, spurge and Poa annu. The herbicide is effective for applications in established lawns, golf courses, field-grown nurseries and landscape ornamentals, commercial sod farms and non-cropland and industrial areas.

Dithiopyr 40 WSB, with its low-odor, water-soluble formulation, can be tank-mixed with liquid fertilizers and other products for more application flexibility. Russ Mitchell, product manager for Quali-Pro, says the herbicide is easy on turf and is labeled for use with nearly 200 ornamental plants. “And Quali-Pro Dithiopyr 40 WSB features the popular non-staining formulation, so you don’t have to worry about leaving any tell-tale signs on turf, equipment, buildings or walkways,” Mitchell says.
