Rees named new fungicide product development manager for Bayer

Bayer Environmental Science has appointed Richard Rees product development manager for fungicides and plant health.

In this position, Rees will coordinate the development of new products and provide technical support for the fungicide portfolio and manage the efforts of the new Bayer health plant initiative.

Rees previously worked as projects and technical information manager for Bayer. During his twenty years with the company, Rees held a number of positions, including global project manager for new active ingredients in Monheim, Germany. Rees has published numerous patents and research findings in his areas of expertise, the development of new products in the crop protection market and research into new plant health promoting active ingredients.

Rees earned his bachelor’s degree in physiology, biochemistry and genetics from Nottingham University in England and his doctorate in life sciences from The Trent University, also in Nottingham, where he specialized in the mechanisms of action of xenobiotics in isolated plant cells.
