The 2008 Greening Rooftops for Sustainable Communities conference, awards and trade show is accepting abstracts for papers to be presented at the conference April 30-May 2 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Green roof designers and researchers are encouraged to participate by completing a submission form, which includes a 300-word abstract and a 50-word biography, by Sept. 30. Submission forms are available online at www.greenroofs.org/baltimore.
The conference aims to provide information on the latest designs, implementation techniques and products, raise awareness on the advantages of green roofs and share results of new research while working toward building more sustainable cities through implementation of green roofs.
Topic areas for papers include programs and policies to support green roof infrastructure, green roof design and implementation and research on green roof performance.
Authors of accepted papers will be allotted 25 minutes to present their papers and five minutes to answer questions as part of the concurrent educational sessions. Those who submit proposals will be notified by e-mail by Nov. 2 of whether the paper has been accepted.
