The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) is accepting entries for the 2008 Green Star Awards contest.
The Green Star Award is given to the grounds superintendent and staff who keep a well-maintained landscape year round. Grounds management professionals can apply in 15 categories including small sites; cemeteries or memorial parks; hotel, motel or resorts; theme parks or zoos; school grounds, university and college grounds, or urban university grounds; and athletic fields, professional fields or golf courses.
The application process consists of an entry form and payment of $150 for PGMS members and $225 for non-members. Non-members may join PGMS and enter the contest for $275. Professionals can enter in multiple categories, and only digital photographs are accepted. The deadline to enter is August 1.
Category winners will be honored at the 2008 awards banquet in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 25.
