Mid-Am awards cash to most represented schools

In January the Mid-America Horticultural Trade Show hosted 726 students from 48 area universities, colleges, trade schools and high schools at its 2008 Student Career Center. Cash prizes were presented to the schools that sponsored the most students.

The top five schools to receive awards are as follows: Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences sponsored 76 students and received $760; Joliet Junior College, Joliet, Illinois, 73 students, $730; University of Wisconsin Extension, 67 students, $670; College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, 53 students, $530; and Kishwaukee College, Malta, Illinois, 44 students, $440. In total, Mid-Am awarded nearly $5,400 to over 10 schools with high representation.

Mid-Am 2009 will take place in Chicago’s McCormick Place West, January 14-16. The Student Career Center is scheduled for January 15. Visit www.midam.org for more details as they are released.
