The deadlines for PLANET’s 2008 awards programs are quickly approaching. Each year PLANET recognizes individuals and groups that have made significant contributions to the green industry. Below are details and deadlines for each of PLANET’s six awards.
Environmental Improvement Awards Program: Open to PLANET members, this award recognizes independent interior plantscaping, landscape and lawn care professionals who complete superior projects. The early-bird deadline for entries is July 11, and all entries must be submitted by August 8.
Green Industry Contribution Award: This award is presented to corporations, developers or municipalities that have shown a consistent commitment to contracted services for quality interior plantscaping, lawn care or landscaping. Contributions must show impact on the environment locally, regionally or nationally and have changed people’s views of the green industry. Nominations for this award are due by August 8.
Community Service Recognition Program: This honor recognizes PLANET members who demonstrated leadership through dedication and contribution to their communities. For a community service project to be eligible, five or more employees must have participated. The service may or may not be green industry related. The deadline for entries is August 8.
Association Partner of the Year Award: This award honors an individual state or regional association for its contributions to the green industry within its state or region as well as nationally as a PLANET member. The deadline for nominations is August 8.
Association Executive Partner of the Year Award Program: This award recognizes the executive of an individual state or regional association for his or her contributions to the green industry within that state or region as well as nationally as a PLANET member. The deadline for nominations is August 8.
PLANET Promise Award: Open to PLANET members, this award recognizes those who have exhibited dedication in participation and involvement in the delivery of the PLANET promise. The five goals addressed in the promise are to deliver unparalleled value to PLANET members, to grow the green industry workforce, to expand PLANET’s position as partner of choice, to advance marketplace recognition and to influence through proactive advocacy. The deadline for entries is June 30.
