DIG Corporation was one of six manufacturers asked by the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) to develop a water restrictor device. The device will serve as an override for irrigation controllers with existing water schedules that must abide by Nevada water restrictions. Devices will attach to irrigation controllers and be capable of overriding irrigation zone schedules at a specific time and day(s) of the week.
Prototypes were completed in May and are scheduled to be installed in September. The devices will be used with a group of homeowners for a period of one year. Following the test, the SNWA will choose one device to begin manufacturing for distribution.
