Deere plans to enhance parts service capabilities

John Deere will enhance its parts service capabilities by investing in capacity expansions at four locations. The primary parts distribution center in Milan, Illinois, will be expanded more than 300,000 square feet to meet its growth needs. Additionally, three other locations that previously served as emergency parts depots in the western U.S. and Canada will become regional distribution centers.

Ports in Portland, Oregon, and Regina, Saskatchewan, are to be renovated and take on additional responsibilities to operate as regional distribution centers. Activities at the parts depot in Stockton, California, will be moved to Lathrop, California, and the port there will be expanded. Deere plans to have the three centers operational between November and September 2009.
