Behnke Nurseries, a Beltsville, Maryland-based corporation, designed the landscape for ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s” seventh season premiere. Behnke landscape designer Andrea Becerril, CPH, used Vectorworks Landmark software to create the landscape for the new 4,800-square-foot home.
Becerril’s design included front-yard plantings, a U-shaped driveway, patio and outdoor fireplace behind the house and accompanying plantings. Her plan also featured a mature tree with brick seat wall to serve as a memorial to the homeowner’s sister, who passed away from cancer. The homeowner, a single mother of four, is also raising her late sister’s 10 children.
Behnke Nurseries had one week to design the landscaping plan for the one-acre lot and three days to complete the installation.
