The 23rd annual Southern Gardening Symposium will be January 16-18 at Callaway Gardens, in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The weekend conference will feature lectures, presentations and demonstrations for gardeners from novice to expert. Some of the topics include sustainable gardening, tips on roses, insect tolerant/disease resistant plants, non-traditional fruits for the South, perennials and annuals from the University of Georgia’s trials, applying color theory to a garden and tips on entertaining in the garden.

The keynote speaker for the event is author Peter Loewer. He will speak on how gardeners can imitate designs from around the world via the computer. Pre-conference workshops begin on Friday, January 16.
