Bayer awards gaming systems, iPods at GIE+EXPO

In honor of Louisville, Kentucky, being home to the Kentucky Derby, Bayer Environmental Science offered the Final Furlong horseracing simulator at its booth during the 2008 GIE+EXPO. Winners were awarded Nintendo Wiis and iPod Nanochromatics for their winning times.

Day One winners were Brittani Kangas of Lupton, Michigan, first place, and Albert Martinez of New York City, second place. Day Three winners were Jacob Fontaine of Strykersville, New York, first place, and Lance Fye of Jefferson, Tennessee, second place.

In addition to the simulator, the Bayer booth displayed research and information about its products and the Bayer Lawn Care Institute. Rusty Rhea, entomologist with the USDA Forest Service, hosted a presentation about Hemlock Woolly Adelgid, an invasive tree pest in the eastern United States.
