Aloha Landscaping named 2009 Landscaper of the Year
Total Landscape Care has named Roger Grothe and Aloha Landscaping in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, the magazine’s 2009 Landscaper of the Year.
Sponsored by Case Construction Equipment, this annual program recognizes 12 finalists as the best and brightest in the landscaping industry. On November 14-17, the finalists and their guests enjoyed an all-expenses-paid cruise to the Bahamas, where Aloha Landscaping was named the winner during a gala banquet.
Aloha Landscaping received a plaque and will be featured on the cover of and in the January 2009 edition of Total Landscape Care. Each of the 11 finalists will be featured in a story about their business in the magazine during 2009.

Kenworth delivers hybrid truck for use at Winter Games
Kenworth Truck Company delivered a new T370 diesel-electric hybrid truck for use in the Quebec Winter Games 2009. Kenworth offers the hybrid option on its T270 Class 6 and T370 Class 7 conventional models. The hybrid system, which can switch among electric only, combined diesel and electric, and diesel only, is monitored through a dash display. The Quebec Winter Games 2009 will be February 27 through March 7.
Rain Bird Academy announces 2008-09 training season
Rain Bird Academy will offer 28 event locations for irrigation professionals to choose from during its 2008-09 irrigation training season. Two types of training camps are offered, the Professional Irrigation Training Camps and the Regional Training Camps. Southern Gardening Symposium to be held at Callaway Gardens
The 23rd annual Southern Gardening Symposium will be January 16-18 at Callaway Gardens, in Pine Mountain, Georgia. Some of the topics include sustainable gardening, tips on roses, insect tolerant/disease resistant plants, non-traditional fruits for the South, perennials and annuals from the University of Georgia’s trials, applying color theory to a garden, and tips on entertaining in the garden.
