Stihl’s Scott Tilley joins Manufacturing Development Commission

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell appointed Scott Tilley, general counsel and member of the executive council of Stihl, to the state’s Manufacturing Development Commission.

In his role at Stihl, Tilley manages the product information department, which includes legal, product compliance and safety/environmental functions. Tilley is also a board member of the Virginia Manufacturers Association (VMA).

Tilley has been with Stihl for 12 years. Prior to Stihl, he worked for the McGuire Woods law firm in Richmond, Virginia.

Tilley also serves on the Norfolk Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) board of directors, as well as the executive board of the Virginia Beach Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce. He is also a past chair of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) leaf blower task force, which created a variety of helpful resources to assist landscapers on the proper use of leaf blowers in light of current regulations and ordinances.
