25,000th Kobelco Excavator Rolls Off the Line in Georgia

With nearly 30 years of manufacturing excavators in the United States, Kobelco celebrates its 25,000th excavator produced in Calhoun, Georgia. “And we look forward to building our next 25,000 excavators in Calhoun,” says Jim Hasler, vice president, CNH Construction, North America.

Excavator number 25,000 is a Kobelco SK350 Mark 9. Delivering 269 horsepower (201 kW), the SK350 Mark 9 has an operating weight of 80,909 lbs (27,056 to 36,000 kg) and a dig depth of 24 ft 10 in.

The SK350 Mark 9 features a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) emission solution for excavators, delivering more engine power and fuel efficiency with technology for meeting Tier 4 Interim emissions regulations.

“We look forward to building our next 25,000 excavators in Calhoun.”

The plant is on track to produce more than 1,100 Kobelco excavators in 2012.
