PLANET, the Professional Landcare Network, will be promoting the North American Occupational Safety and Health Administration (NAOSH) Week through May 10.
PLANET, an OSHA partner, and the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) is encouraging businesses, communities and individuals to participate in an effort to enhance workplace safety.
The goal is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, home and community.
Across the country, NAOSH Week events and activities are coordinated by local and/or regional committees, comprised primarily of volunteers.
Last year, PLANET launched a free safety program, which is available in English or Spanish, to anyone in the industry.
The program was funded by the Susan Harwood grant from OSHA and will help companies train workers to meet OSHA safety standards.
PLANET also offers the STARS Safe Company Program, which helps landscape industry companies lower their total costs of risk by reducing hazards and injuries.
