IA to Talk Drought in Upcoming Webinar

Irrigation AssociationThe Irrigation Association is hosting its next webinar in its “Smart irrigation Month: Bringing Water to Life” webinar series.

With drought being a major topic so far in 2014, and some areas of the country still feeling the affects of the 2012 drought, which was one of the worst in history, the webinar will focus on key questions like, “Is the United states properly prepared?” and “What role does irrigation play in mitigating the effects?”

These questions and more will be answered during the webinar, Mitigating Effects of Drought – Visions for Sustainable Irrigation, on Wednesday, May 21 at 2 p.m. EST.

Using case studies from Alabama and Georgia, featured speaker Dr. Puneet Srivastava, professor of ecological engineering at Auburn University, will take a close look at lessons learned from the past drought and discuss innovative ways to prepare for the next one.

Registration is open but space is limited.

Participants are eligible to receive one continuing education unit toward IA certification.

For those who can’t attend, IA will send a recording of the webinar.
