Construction equipment to help start 2015 off right

2015 is starting off strong with several new products hitting the landscape market, including several manufacturers releasing construction equipment. Here are a few of the latest pieces of equipment to hit jobsites so far this year.

Jd 324 K 1Heavy lifting
The 244K and 324K compact wheel loaders from John Deere are equipped with Tier 4 final diesel engines with a two-speed transmission. Hitting top speeds of 19 mph and 17 mph, the K-Series feature oscillating stereo steering. The 244K delivers 64 horsepower at 2,400 rpm with 10,792 pounds of breakout force and an 8,183-pound full-turn tipping load. The 324K delivers 70 horsepower at 2,400 rpm, with 12,364 pounds of breakout force and a 9,766-pound full-turn tipping load. The machines feature bucket capacities of 1.0 to 1.4 and 1.4 to 2.0 cubic yards, respectively. Read more here.

Seago International created the Autoguide Midi-Postmaster Post Driver specifically designed for 2.5- to 5-ton mini-excavators. The 430-pound postmaster can drive posts up to 8-inches in diameter and deliver 13,500 pounds of downforce at 50 Hertz. Hydraulic post clamps secure the post for positioning. Read more here.

The Bobcat Depth Check System from the Bobcat Company is a grade control system made for eight E-Series models. Three sensors connect to the instrument panel inside the cab to track the location of the bucket teeth as the bucket, boom and arm move. An alert goes on and off to indicate how close the operator is to the target. The system is laser-compatible and can be operated with a basic laser system. Read more here.

Tr340 1024x634Tech savvy
Making their debut at World of Concrete, Case Construction Equipment’s TR340 and TV380 CTLs are Tier 4 final machines featuring selective catalytic reduction technology. The radial-lift TR340 weighs 10,000 pounds with a rated operating capacity of 3,400 pounds and a bucket breakout force of 8,700 pounds. The vertical-lift TV380 weighs 10,550 pounds, has 7,510 pounds of bucket breakout force and an ROC of 3,800 pounds. The TR340 and TV380 complement the company’s SR270 and SV300 skid steers also released at the tradeshow. Read more here.

KubotaAll in the details
After getting a sneak peak last year, Kubota revealed the latest specs on its two skid steers: the 64 horsepower SSV65 and the 74 horsepower SSV75. The SSV65 features an operating capacity of 1,950 pounds and a breakout force of 4,839 pounds. The SSV75 features an operating capacity of 2,690 pounds and a breakout force of 5,884 pounds. Both Tier 4 final machines feature vertical lift designs. Read more here.

The SK850 footings machine from Ditch Witch can dig trenches up to 16 inches wide and 36 inches deep. The Tier 4, 37-horsepower trencher is powered by a diesel engine. The SK850 includes a 43-inch track and 74-square-inch platform. An auxiliary control foot pedal helps maintain hydraulic flow. Read more here.
