A thief or thieves stole a truck and trailer filled with $30,000 worth of equipment, a landscaping company in Forest Acres, South Carolina, reported.

On Friday morning, Superior Southern Landscaping workers realized the Dodge Ram and the attached trailer were missing. The trailer was parked at a home rented by the owners of Superior Southern Landscaping.

According to WISTV, the thieves backed the truck out of the driveway and slashed the tires of the two vehicles of the people renting the house.

The trailer contained mowers, trimmers, lumber and personal tools belonging to employees.

“My major concern ever was that somebody would break into the trailer,” said Dustin Westmoreland with Superior Southern Landscaping. “It never crossed my mind that they would take the trailer, not to mention the truck it was attached to.”

The company does have insurance to cover the equipment, but the owners say it will take weeks for the claim to be processed, according to the television station’s report. They are concerned with lost work time, as they are now down to one vehicle.
