This month Progress Manufacturing Inc., maker of the Equal-i-zer Sway Control Hitch, celebrates the product’s 70th anniversary, kicking off the occasion by moving into its new building in Provo, Utah.

“With top-quality materials and family-focused employees, it’s easy to provide a lifetime warranty on each hitch,” said Rich Elliott, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing.

Progress CEO Jed Anderson says it’s exciting to see how far the company has come.

“We work hard to provide the best sway-control hitch on the market,” Anderson said, “and it’s great to see the commitment and dedication of our employees pay off as we hit 70 years.”

The Equal-i-zer hitch started out as a product of Mobile Manufacturing in Salt Lake City, where founder Edward Hedgepeth created the first integrated sway-control hitch. The company has experienced many changes through the years, including its name, but its steady growth during those decades led to its recent relocation.

“We are so happy to be in our new building,” said Josh Binks, chief financial officer of the company. “Our beautiful new place gives us the space and resources we need to work. This has been a very fun and exciting change.”
