The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) this week honored JCB North America with its âPillar of the Industry Awardâ as part of AEMâs annual âI Make Americaâ initiative. To be eligible for the award, a member company must demonstrate its involvement in the local community and willingness to take action on state and national issues affecting manufacturing.
âThe manufacturing industry is truly the backbone of the North American economy,â said Arjun Mirdha, president and CEO of JCB North America. âManufacturing creates and sustains many jobs in the United States and Canada, employing thousands of workers who continually conceive and build state-of-the-art equipment. As a manufacturing company, we feel itâs both our duty and our privilege to support this hard-working industry, and weâre incredibly honored to receive this prestigious award from AEM.â
JCB was recognized for its role in advocating pro-manufacturing positions to elected leaders as well as its participation in AEMâs âI Make Americaâ grassroots program. JCB North America kicked the program off for 2015 at its headquarters in Savannah, Georgia.
âWe were elated to be selected to kick off this yearâs I Make America Campaign,â said John Patterson, chairman of JCB Inc. âOur entire staff participated in support of manufacturing. Every single employee within our organization can help make this campaign a success to keep manufacturing in America strong.â AEMâs I Make America program is in its fifth year.
âAEM is proud to bestow its Pillar of the Industry Award to JCB to recognize its efforts to go above and beyond its daily business and become a champion for our entire industry,â said AEM President Dennis Slater. âBecause of its commitment to pro-manufacturing solutions, JCB does stand as a âpillarâ that helps support the foundation of our entire manufacturing economy.â
