EnviroGard has been working with John Deere dealers to train their technicians on the use of EnviroGard kits to convert mower engines to propane fuel.
Available conversions now include 21 John Deere ZTrak zero-turn mowers, seven John Deere QuikTrak stand-on mowers and eight John Deere commercial walk-behind mowers.
Conversions will be available through John Deere dealers for commercial end users in the United States for the 2016 season.
“We’re very pleased to be expanding our propane conversion program for John Deere dealers and their customers,” said Jeremy Hahne, EnviroGard vice president of business development. “With 36 different conversion kits, professional landscapers now have many options for converting to propane.”
The conversion kits are designed and manufactured by EnviroGard and installed by certified John Deere technicians. Once converted, the propane-powered machines are EPA and CARB compliant.
EnviroGard has established a 22-module online training program to certify all John Deere dealers’ technicians. Hahne said the company has received “excellent feedback” from John Deere technicians who have completed the program.
He said landscaping contractors interested in converting their John Deere mowers to propane should call or visit their dealer to determine whether a conversion kits is available for their specific machine.
Based in Stanley, North Carolina, EnviroGard is a division of LEHR Holdings of Los Angeles, which announced its acquisition of EnviroGard this past February.
