Tom Heaviland started Heaviland Landscape Management with his father, Ron, and his step-mother, Jane, 30 years ago. The elder Mr. Heaviland has since passed away, but Tom knows his father would be extremely proud of the company as it marks three decades in business.

Heaviland logoThe Vista, California-based landscaping company recently held a celebration to mark the anniversary, with a number of local dignitaries joining clients, vendors, employees and even a few other commercial landscape companies’ representatives at the event.

Vista Mayor Judy Ritter formally presented a proclamation from the city honoring Tom Heaviland and Heaviland Landscape Management. Needless to say, following the presentation of the proclamation, the crowd called on Heaviland for a speech.

“This speech is going to be mostly thank-you’s because, as you know, nobody travels through 30 years of business without a lot of help along the way,” said Heaviland. He concluded his remarks by sharing gratitude for his wife of 28 years, Joanne, his daughter, Gianna, and his son, Christian, who recently joined the family business.

Heaviland Landscape Management is a full-service commercial landscape management company that serves all of San Diego County from its three locations in Vista, Miramar and South Bay. In addition to landscape design, installation and enhancements, the company offers a full slate of maintenance services as well as resource management.
